The Estate

Domaine Leflaive is one of Burgundy’s most important white wine estates, based in Puligny-Montrachet with family roots there dating back to 1717. The modern domaine was shaped by Joseph Leflaive in the early 20th century, while Anne-Claude Leflaive played a defining role in its modern reputation through her pioneering work in biodynamics. Today, Brice de La Morandière leads the estate, continuing a family stewardship that has made Leflaive one of the enduring reference points of the Côte de Beaune.

The Vineyards

The heart of the domaine lies in Puligny-Montrachet, where its holdings include four grands crus: Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet, Bâtard-Montrachet, Chevalier-Montrachet and Montrachet. Its premier cru holdings are equally important, led by Les Pucelles, Le Clavoillon, Les Folatières and Les Combettes, with additional holdings in Meursault Sous le Dos d’Ane. Leflaive’s vineyard work is inseparable from its identity, with biodynamic farming central to how the estate approaches these sites and their expression.

The Wines

Leflaive’s wines are prized for their clarity, energy and understated power. Even at the highest level, they are not simply about richness. They are about line, mineral detail, texture and length. The grands crus are among the most collectible white wines in Burgundy, while the premiers crus, especially Les Pucelles and Clavoillon, are often just as compelling for those who follow the domaine closely. For serious collectors, Domaine Leflaive offers both stature and remarkable ageing potential.

In Allocation

Domaine Leflaive sits firmly in the world of true allocation Burgundy. Its standing among collectors, the prestige of its Puligny-Montrachet holdings, and the limited scale of production mean demand consistently exceeds supply. Within the Lamont’s Allocation Program, Leflaive matters because it represents one of white Burgundy’s most important names: a producer sought not simply for reputation, but for the consistency and distinction of its vineyard portfolio.
