Domaine Dujac

Domaine Dujac has become a benchmark for modern Burgundy, thoughtful in style, but never overstated.

The Estate

Domaine Dujac was founded in 1968 by Jacques Seysses in Morey-Saint-Denis and has grown from 5 hectares to 17.5 hectares. Today, the estate is guided by the second generation, with Jeremy Seysses, Diana Stewart, and Alec Seysses continuing the family’s work with the same exacting standards that established Dujac as one of Burgundy’s most respected modern domaines.

The Vineyards

While Morey-Saint-Denis remains the spiritual centre of the estate, Dujac’s vineyard holdings extend across some of Burgundy’s most important sites in both the Côte de Nuits and Côte de Beaune. The domaine produces wines from villages, premiers crus and grands crus including Clos de la Roche, Clos Saint-Denis, Bonnes Mares, Échezeaux, Chambertin, Charmes-Chambertin and Romanée-Saint-Vivant, alongside white wines from Morey-Saint-Denis and Puligny-Montrachet premier cru sites Les Folatières and Les Combettes.

The Wines

Dujac’s style is built around finesse, transparency and texture. The estate describes its approach as simple and non-interventionist, with the imprint of the winemaker kept as discreet as possible so that fruit, vintage and terroir can speak clearly. Whole bunch fermentation, indigenous yeasts, careful élevage and a long-held belief that the real work happens in the vineyard all contribute to wines that are layered, aromatic and highly collectible.

Interesting Details

  • Jacques Seysses founded the domaine in 1968 after learning winemaking with Gérard Potel at Domaine de la Pousse d'Or.

  • The estate expanded into the Côte de Beaune in 2014 through leased Puligny-Montrachet premier cru vineyards.

  • Domaine Dujac was certified organic in 2011, after beginning its organic work in 2001 and extending it across the full estate by 2008.

  • Biodynamic practices were introduced in 2003 and are now used throughout the domaine.

  • In addition to the estate wines, the family also produces Dujac Fils & Père, a négociant range launched in 2000.

In Allocation

Domaine Dujac sits firmly in the world of serious allocation Burgundy. The estate’s standing, the breadth of its grand cru and premier cru holdings, and its relatively small production mean demand consistently outstrips supply. For Lamont’s Allocation Program, Dujac matters because it offers collectors both pedigree and nuance: a domaine with modern Burgundy stature, but also the depth and vineyard range to reward long-term cellaring and careful buying across the portfolio.
